Yumiko Iwata joined HelmsBriscoe as Manager, Global Accounts in 2020 and is based out of Tokyo/Chiba, Japan. Yumiko has worked in the meetings industry for over 30 years. She began her career at Chiba Convention Bureau in Japan when the nation's pioneering and largest convention facility opened in Chiba. Fluent in English, she was responsible for meeting sales in the world's key markets and also supported organizers and event planners with their conventions.
Yumiko has assisted numerous projects with destination marketing and promotion, bidding document preparation, logistic/operation management, and government liaising. She has also conducted human resource training and is a frequent national and international speaker. Yumiko is a member of PCMA, and her global network covers both the supply and demand sides. She studied music at Wake Forest University in the USA and loves performing arts to this day.
