David Gallagher - Senior Director, Global Accounts
David has been in the hospitality industry since 1983 where he started at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero in San Francisco. Since then he has had hotel sales positions in various hotels but most of them being in California. He spent four years at Carmel Valley Ranch resort on the Monterey Peninsula and nine years at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego. One of the phrases that was given to him very early on in his career by a very encouraging and motivated General Manager was "David, we are all in the hospitality business and the core word is "hospitable" so if you cannot be 'hospitable" this is not the industry for you" and those words have stayed with David throughout his career.
David was the main contact at HelmsBriscoe for the Homeland Security/TSA Project and for setting up all of the interview sites for all of the applicants that were to be processed for the new Airport Screeners jobs that were now being required by the Congress of the United States. Within 36 hours of being awarded this history making account, David established four teams of ten people each from the ranks of HelmsBriscoe. These teams were deployed throughout the United States and they were responsible for more than 200 sites that would eventually be set up and running simultaneously across all 50 states plus the territories as well. It was a logistical process that had never been done before in the history of the hospitality industry. With the resources provided by HelmsBriscoe he and his entire team were able to achieve all that was requested of them in the time allocated by congress.
